Burna Boy Net Worth, Cars, House and Biography

Burna Boy is one of the popular afro-pop musicians in Nigeria. He sings Afro Hip-hop RnB music. On January 26, 2018, he released his second album titled “Outside” which became a hit worldwide. His fourth album was named “African Giant” which won him three awards at the 2019 Headies Award.

Burna Boy’s latest album, Twice as Tall, a 15-piece collection released on Friday, August 14th, 2021 looks to be on pace to be his most successful to date.

Biography, Early Life and Music Career

Burna Boy’s real name is Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu. He was born on 2nd July 1991, to Mr. Samuel Ogulu and Mrs. Bose Ogulu, in Port Harcourt Nigeria where he grew up with his family. His father managed a welding company, while his mother was a translator.

Ebunoluwa is the artist’s Yoruba middle name, which he got from his mother, who also has a Yoruba first name. Mrs. Bose Ogulu is said to be fluent in at least three languages, including French, Italian, and German.

Burna Boy has had music lovers dancing with some hit singles like “Ye”. His debut single ‘Way too Big’ helped put him on the music map in 2020 while wombolombo further added to his growing popularity. It wasn’t until Burna Boy’s collaboration with Phyno on the song ‘Duro Ni Be Burna Boy’ that he was recognized nationally.

Burna Boy has worked with top music industry players like D’banj, Xbusta, Aka, Dj Jimmy Jatt among many others. He’s made a lot of cash through his performances at shows across Nigeria and recently performed in the UK to rave reviews from music lovers who’d not seen him perform live before.

While most stars are content with building mansions for themselves, Burna Boy added an extra floor to his already impressive 3-story house! This is surely one star you can’t keep down on the ground.

After being signed to the record company Aristokrat Records, Burna Boy transitioned from playing with music to really recording music. Despite his lack of fame, he produced two mixtapes in 2011 dubbed Burn Identity and Burn Notice, which was presumably inspired by the prominent Hollywood film series Bourne Trilogy at the time.

Burna Boy continued to grind his way to the top of the charts. He was named as the Afrobeat musician(s) to play at the 2019 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (together with Mr Eazi) as early as January. This was significant since the event will also include performances by Ariana Grande, Lizzo, Wiz Khalifa, Kanye West, and Donald Glover, all of whom are now popular in the United States.

The musician, who was born in Nigeria, also owns a mansion in Lekki that is said to be worth N150 million, as well as properties in Ajah.

Burna Boy’s Cars

Burna Boy despite being one of the most popular musicians in Nigeria, still manages to stay grounded. He’s rather modest when it comes to spending his money on flashy things like cars and mansions. While he does own some really swanky rides, Burna Boy prefers driving around town in a Mercedes Benz, Range Rover Sports, G-Wagon, and a 2016 Lexus Saloon that cost about $65,000 each instead of splurging all his cash on expensive foreign vehicles like Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 which costs about $400,000-$500,000.

He drives himself while performing at shows or running personal errands because he believes it’s one way of staying humble. However, the ‘Tonight’ hitmaker does reveal that he has an expensive taste when it comes to buying clothes; especially sneakers which are mostly by Bally and Louis Vuitton! But then again, who doesn’t like nice cars?

Burna Boy’s Relationships

In 2019, Stephanie Victoria Allen, he and UK musician better known by her stage as Stefflon Don, acknowledged their relationship. The London rapper claimed to have met Damini Ogulu in Ghana.

She alleged that Burna Boy had promised her from the start that she would be his wife and that they would soon make things permanent. However, their partnership has not been without hiccups. Stephanie and Damini, like many other high-profile couples, were embroiled in controversies.

There were rumors that they were divorcing in August 2019 due to Burna Boy’s infidelity with his ex-girlfriend. Stefflon was quick to put an end to the rumors before they spread any further. The 27-year-old singer maintained that the recordings circulating were outdated, and to further silence critics, she provided a screenshot of a FaceTime call she had with Burna Boy, in which both appeared calm.

In December 2020, a 23-year-old woman named Jo Pearl revealed that Burna Boy had been dating her before he met Stefflon Don and that they would have remained together while he was with the British rapper.

Pearl began her Instagram videos by noting, “Two years is such a long time for a person to stay concealed.” It has had a huge impact on me, and I can’t keep it up any longer to protect people who wouldn’t protect me.”
