Wizkid is a Nigerian musician and songwriter who was born on July 16, 1990. He started recording music at the age of 11 and released a joint CD with the Glorious Five, a group he and a few of his church buddies formed. Wizkid got a recording contract with Empire Mates Entertainment in 2009. (E.M.E).
He gained prominence with the release of “Holla at Your Boy,” the first single off his first studio album, Superstar (2011), which also included the songs “Tease Me/Bad Guys” and “Don’t Dull.” In September 2014, he released Ayo, his soul second studio album. “Jaiye Jaiye” was one of six singles released to promote the album.
Wizkid left E.M.E when his contract with the business expired. Wizkid rose to worldwide prominence in 2016 after collaborating with Drake on the smash track “One Dance,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 in 14 countries. After the song broke many records, Wizkid became the first Afrobeats artist to be inducted into the Guinness Book of World Records.
His third studio album, Sounds from the Other Side, was released later that year after he inked a multi-album contract with RCA Records in March 2017. In support of the album, five songs were released, including “Come Closer,” which featured Drake.

Early Life
Moving from his birthplace in Ogun State to Ajegunle, Lagos where he would eventually be discovered by the world. At just 13 years of age, this kid was already performing at different social events and jamming with other musicians who were much older than him.
He met the likes of D’banj and Dr. Sid with whom he recorded a few tracks. Wizkid began his academic studies at Lagos State University, then switched to Lead City University in his second year.
